An offendless revenge Татьяны Трушиной
When
I asked my psychologist, how to digress from a problem, she told me that the
best way is to find another problem, which will be pleasant for you. Or you can
do something to let you feelings out, but nobody should know about it. And then
she gave me a book by July Larny, which is called
"An
offendless revenge". This book is about a man, his name is Martin, who
married a woman and had to take part in her family's business. His salary was
pretty high, his job was not very difficult, he was always with his relatives,
so everything seemed to be fine. But very soon he understood that these people
were not a family, they were a bunch of snakes, who tried to make profit of
everything, every of whom wanted to be higher than the others were, they always
lied, deceived people and each other. He tried not to notice it, but he
couldn't, every day he waited for a blow to his back. He wanted to stop working
with them, but he didn't know how to tell them about this (he just had no
reasons), he didn't want to find fault with his wife. But step by step, it
became unbearable. Once, Martin came home from his work, he heard accidentally
as his father-in-law was up to do something against his son. Martin was deeply
depressed, he was sitting on the sofa, thinking about nothing. Suddenly he got
up and rushed out from his apartment. He went to the zoo shop, bought some
snakes and went with them to his country house. He placed them in cages, sat
down in front of them and stared at them...
They
were the same, yes, just the same: so calm and silent bysight and so dangerous
and an predictable inside... He drove back to his apartment without feeding
them. He didn't feed them at all. He came to the country house every day and
watched how they died slowly. And then a terrible thing happened, his wife's
brother was killed, all his shares were given to his father.
Martin
understood that his father-in-law did this... He killed his son for the sake of
shares!!! This was the last straw, this evening Martin went to the country
house, carefully took all the snakes out of their cages and made them bite each
other. With great pleasure he watched how they died. Then he went to the zoo
shop and bought some snakes again, but when he was driving to the country house,
accidentally the door of the cage opened... All snakes creeped out of there,
they crawled to Martin, wrapped his legs...
He
didn't know what to do, he tried not to move, but suddenly one snake bit him and
all the others began to bite him too. Martin got out of the car, but nothing
could help him now, there was too much poison in his body. The one thing he was
able to do was to write a few words. When he was found, there was his diary near
him and it was written :" They made me live with them and they killed
me". But nobody understood the meaning of this words...
I
can't say that I liked the story very much, but when I read it I was really
impressed by it. I can't say that I felt sorry for this man, I don't know why
but I didn't. I've got another feeling. A feeling that I took part in this
story, that I was someone, whom Martin told all his thoughts and feelings. And I
was watching and praying for him to put up with all his problems, for him to
find strength and finally to do something to break with his family. But I've got
a strange feeling when he died, like for a long time I was coming to the same
market and looked at a wonderful thing, which I was eager to buy, but when I
finally got money and came to the market to buy this thing, it had already been
bought! The feeling was the same, frustration, emptiness. And after I read the
story I understood that clearness of our soul and conscience, our peace are very
important things.
